When the Visionary in You Needs to Breathe Again
By Dr. Rakesh Paul
Life is short. Every moment is a gift meant to be lived, savoured, and cherished. None of us knows when our final call will come — when death will knock at our door. That’s why living in constant negativity is dangerous. It drains your energy, kills your vision, and slowly erodes your mission.
Negativity is like a slow poison — not always visible, but steadily destructive. If your life becomes limited to the same small circle of 5–6 people, meeting them all the time, talking to them all the time, with nothing new happening, you will slip into maintenance mode.
No new vision.
No new plan.
No fresh initiative.
Nothing. Nothing. Nothing.
At this stage, the visionary in you begins to take its last breath. Irritation replaces inspiration. You become unproductive. Life feels like it’s just existing, not living.
So, what’s the solution?
The Bible gives us a powerful key in Philippians 4:6-7:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Bring your burdens to God. Let His peace reset your mind and spirit. But alongside prayer, you also need to take practical steps to restore yourself:
People are important — but even the most well-meaning ones can drain you if you’re not careful. They might vent their frustrations on you, pour out their negativity, and leave you emotionally exhausted.
That’s why it’s okay — even necessary — to take a break. Whether long or short, it’s a chance to breathe, reset, and be yourself again.
Remember: you can’t pour into others if your own cup is empty. Protect the visionary within you. Nurture your spirit. Live fully.
